# Overview

An overview of the ShiftX process modelling tool from Ardoq.

ShiftX is built ground-up to use AI to generate process flows from natural language, images, and voice recordings — leveraging Ardoq's graph database to make connections to people, applications, and other resources.

{% hint style="info" %}
The first step of using ShiftX with Ardoq is to configure component groups. Read our [Configuring ShiftX](/shiftx/configuring-shiftx.md) article to get started.
{% endhint %}

## Creating a Process

The best way to get started with ShiftX is to describe a process in your organization using the **Generate with AI** panel on the left.

<figure><img src="https://2484004798-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FnlnB7uZ29iLVLzqGbCym%2Fuploads%2FJr8y9fB9B5jLquekRTRR%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=1cb0291b-2d4c-4ad5-abb1-8142c98c983a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In the example below, using AI process generation, you can see ShiftX identify the connected applications and departments synchronized from Ardoq, and then use them to create a shift scheduling process based on real actors and applications in your organization.

{% hint style="info" %}
You will need to enable AI features in your Ardoq organization for ShiftX to leverage AI generation.
{% endhint %}

Once you have a baseline process, you can continue the conversation to refine it or use the user interface to model the process manually.

## Draft and Published Processes

By default, all processes in ShiftX start as draft processes. All changes made in a draft are automatically saved.

When you're ready to publish a process, click the **Publish** button in the top-left corner.

<figure><img src="https://2484004798-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FnlnB7uZ29iLVLzqGbCym%2Fuploads%2FK1UZcf2WwCmXkIoAWXuq%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=e13bd662-d0c8-45c7-8897-3691c5ca226d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The published version of each process is shown in the process overview for each process.

<figure><img src="https://2484004798-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FnlnB7uZ29iLVLzqGbCym%2Fuploads%2FbwbnpIs8PkPMZ5z41Hu3%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=19085030-e78a-43ba-b0de-a81e3577622b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Opening the editor and making changes to your process automatically creates a new draft. You can return to a draft by opening the dropdown menu in the **Open editor** button.&#x20;

## Exporting and Embedding Processes

### Exporting Processes

Processes can be exported by clicking the <i class="fa-ellipsis">:ellipsis:</i> button in the top-right corner of the process overview screen and selecting **Export** and one of the choices.

<figure><img src="https://2484004798-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FnlnB7uZ29iLVLzqGbCym%2Fuploads%2F4GZhfsgW3zsbXP0b3AbS%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=2523ba98-6315-4395-b453-eff2f90a78e0" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Each option will present a configuration modal to define the parameters of your output:

### Embedding Processes

Your can embed your ShiftX process in a third-party tool by clicking the <i class="fa-ellipsis">:ellipsis:</i> button in the top-right corner of the process overview screen and selecting **Embed process**.

<figure><img src="https://2484004798-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FnlnB7uZ29iLVLzqGbCym%2Fuploads%2FaMfO4yELFB3rstFnkg7n%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=010161f2-1b40-4915-81e8-6367056186ec" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The embedding modal has options for an iframe-based embed as well as a direct URL.&#x20;
