# Getting Your Data into Ardoq

Your organization's architecture lives across many different sources including cloud providers, CMDBs, Excel sheets, and a myriad other sources — including in the heads of subject matter experts.

Ardoq provides a number of tools to help you connect to the sources you need to build out the most complete architecture of your organization. Moreover, Ardoq maintains robust [data provenance](/data-model/provenance.md) to ensure that you understand where your data originated and who has acted on it.

## Integrations

### Out-of-the-Box Integrations

Ardoq supports several common platforms for bringing in application, people, and cloud data. For a full list of supported pre-built integrations look at our [integrations overview](/integrations/integrations.md). These integrations are developed by Ardoq and handle the common use cases without significant customization or configuration.

### Custom Integrations

If Ardoq doesn't directly support your platforms and vendor tools, we have an extensive set of APIs and other connectivity tools for your to develop your own integration with Ardoq.

## Surveys

In large organizations, organizational data doesn't always make it into documentation or knowledge bases. Discovering relationships related to business capabilities or application ownership often requires talking to people engaged in such projects.

Ardoq Surveys help you structure questions to the people in your organization, send out questions about their localized knowledge, and collect and centralize their responses in Ardoq. In other words, Surveys help you crowdsource knowledge about your organization.

## Manual Input

As you browse through your data you'll often find opportunities to expand relationships and correct details. Ardoq's Data Inventory will help you freely edit your data in tabular form, and the Component Overview page — easily accessible from most visualization in Ardoq — can help you extend and update your components and their fields.

## AI-based Input

Ardoq has several options for enabling AI agents for accessing, modifying, and populating data:

1. **Ardoq AI Assistant**: Ardoq's built-in agent works on your data with direct context from your metamodel.
2. **MCP Connector**: Let your own agentic tools access Ardoq through our MCP server.
3. [**AI Visual Importer**](/integrations/out-of-the-box-integrations/ai-visual-importer.md): Upload diagrams — images or Lucidcharts — to Ardoq and have our AI tools generate components and references based on the images.
