# Exploring Your Data

Ardoq has multiple ways to visualize your organization and to get insight into business questions.

The data your organization will have in Ardoq might very well include thousands of components and references. To make sense of the all this, Ardoq provides several tools to visualize your data from the component and reference level all the way to the metamodel level.

## Viewpoints

The core tool for viewing the connections between components and references in Ardoq is the viewpoint builder. It is accessible by clicking the **Explore data** button from the the home page.

In technical terms, a viewpoint is a graph traversal based on your selected dataset parameters — in this case, the context component and all the components that it has references to.

Every viewpoint begins by selecting a context component — that is, the component from which the graph traversal begins.

A simple traversal configuration might look like this:

## Graph Diagrams

Once you've narrowed down the scope of your data, you can execute the viewpoint to visualize the components and reference that fit your defined parameters.

Building on the example above, we see that the only set of data that fits out definitions — a person who is an expert in Ardoq — is visualized below:

You can extend your traversals to ask complicated questions about your business, such as "What risks affect Microsoft Office 365?" and get clearly defined answers.

## Data Inventory

The most familiar way to interact with Ardoq data and to make updates to your architecture will be the Data Inventory, which is a tabular representation of your data in the graph database.

You can access the Data Inventory from the main menu.

## AI Agent Data Exploration

The Ardoq AI Assistant has access to all of your Ardoq data and is capable of answering natural language questions with text and visualizations.
